Tianxin Tang

Hello! I am Tianxin,1 a lecturer2 at University of Glasgow, UK. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Netherlands, hosted by Andreas Hülsing in the Applied and Provable Security Group, and at ETH Zurich, Switzerland in the Applied Cryptography Group led by Kenny Paterson. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science under the supervision of Sasha Boldyreva from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

I am interested in provable security and exploring the wonderful world of PETs (privacy-enhancing technologies). Some of my recent research interests include post-quantum cryptography and formal verification.

Jun 05, 2026 I am looking for a (fully-funded) PhD student to work with me, co-supervised by Shahid Raza, on provable security, with a focus on post-quantum cryptography and its applications. Apr 08, 2026 Started a new position at the University of Glasgow, UK. Back in the UK (did my undergrad in Bristol), but this time in Scotland! Definitely recommend the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh in August (I’ve been there twice before, and planning to travel there from Glasgow again this time).
Dec 23, 2025 Talk proposal “Sprinkle Differential Privacy on a Bit of Everything” was accepted to Real World Crypto 2026! Looking forward to visiting Taipei in March, 2026. Unfortunately, the other submission on learning functionality outputs was not accepted.
